Mark is a Partner at Catalyst and has been working in the UK’s mid-market for over 25 years.
He has advised a long list of entrepreneurs and private company shareholders on private equity transactions and trade sales, giving him extensive knowledge across a range of sectors and situations. He has a particularly strong record in the Travel and Business Services sectors.
Mark spends much of his time working with financial sponsors (private equity), advising private business owners, management teams and private equity funds on management buy-outs and growth capital investments.
Recent deals include advising KKR on its £325m acquisition of Travelopia; the sales of PS Financials to IRIS Software, Bluefin Solutions to India-based Mindtree, The Automated Technology Group (ATG) to Wood Group plc, Griffin Global Group to ATPI Ltd and Routeco to Sonepar of France; the management buy-out of John Charcol/Towergate Financial, the debt-funded management buy-out of XLN Business Services and advising ConSol Partners on an investment in the business by Empresaria.
A graduate of Leeds University, Mark trained as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton, progressing through to partnership. After 10 years as a Partner with Grant Thornton, he moved to KPMG where he was a Corporate Finance Partner based in Milton Keynes and then London, for a total of over 12 years, before joining Catalyst in 2013.
With two grown up children, away from work Mark is able to indulge his passion for football and tennis, watching and playing both regularly. He is also is a keen skier.
