Andy is Catalyst’s Managing Partner. His role is predominantly client facing, both leading and working alongside other partners in the delivery of our services to clients.
With a corporate finance career spanning over 25 years, Andy has advised a range of clients on both UK and international transactions.
Recent deals include the management buy-out of Belfield Furnishings; the merger of Options Group with Outcomes First Group; the £80 million sale of The Sloane Club to Queensway Group and Clearbell Property Partners III LP, the sales Adapt to US-based Datapipe, CP Electronics to Legrand, Shimtech Industries to Auctus Industries, Allen Ford to South Africa's Super Group, Texon to South-East Asia-based Navis Capital Partners, Sofa Brands International to Promethean Investments and Soreen to Samworth Brothers; the secondary management buy-outs of Aspen Pumps and Alcumus; and the private equity/debt capital transactions for Foster + Partners.
He has particular knowledge and expertise of Human Capital businesses, such as consultancies and professional services firms, and of advising private equity, bank consortia and other complex shareholder structures.
An alumni of Leicester University, Andy qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, (now PwC) and had a spell in industry with a listed building services firm prior to the formation of Catalyst in 1998.
Andy is married with two daughters and outside of work is a commercial advisor to one of the country’s leading athletics clubs, personally sponsoring a number of promising young athletes. A keen cyclist and skier, Andy is also a member of the Help for Heroes fund raising committee. His other 'charity' work involves being a supporter of Portsmouth FC.
