Andy Currie

Andy is Managing Partner at Catalyst. His chief responsibilities include advising on MBOs, fund raising, company acquisitions and disposals, as well as directing Catalyst’s day-to-day operations and developing the firm’s strategy alongside Chairman Brian McGowan.

Andy also has a focus on the support services sector, alongside leveraging the cross border activity of our international partnership Mergers Alliance in his role as Chairman.

“As an owner and manager myself, I understand the importance to the business owners and managers I meet of considering and then embarking on a deal. Such an event may be the most important in their business lives – this is something that at Catalyst we never forget. In giving our advice we always put ourselves in the position of our client first and foremost.”

Andy trained as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse (now PwC) having graduated from Leicester University. He then spent seven years within PwC’s lead advisory team before becoming a founding partner at Catalyst in 1998.

Away from work, Andy is a commercial advisor to one of the country’s leading athletics clubs and personally sponsors a number of promising young athletes. Andy is also a member of the “Help for Heroes” fund raising committee, which seeks to make the lives of those wounded in action (and their families) more bearable.
