Brian McGowan
Chairman at Catalyst since 2001, Brian works alongside Managing Partner Andy Currie directing Catalyst’s strategy, developing the senior team and using his experience and network to help the Catalyst team deliver deals.

Brian co-founded Williams Holdings in 1982, which became one of the most successful companies of the 1980s and 1990s and included businesses such as Crown Paints, Polycell, Cuprinol, Kidde, Chubb, Thorn and Yale. After retiring from Williams in 1993 he became Chairman at House of Fraser plc, Rentokil plc and Umeco plc, as well as taking on his role at Catalyst in 2001.
Outside of Catalyst Brian enjoys skiing, fishing and watching the England cricket team.
