Michael Izza, CEO ICAEW

Michael Izza, CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, visited the offices of Catalyst during a tour of the West Midlands in early March.

Izza, head of one of the world's leading accountancy and finance professional bodies, was hosted for the afternoon by Catalyst managing partner Andy Currie and the Catalyst team, and learnt about Catalyst's history, training and views on the current market. Catalyst was chosen by the local ICAEW regional team as an exemplar organisation for Mr Izza to meet, not only given its success in recent years but also the value it sees in training and developing its staff to the highest possible technical standards using the ICAEW qualifications as a base.

Managing partner Andy Currie said, "It was a pleasure hosting Michael during his tour of the region, and I'm delighted that he found so much of interest in our firm. Not only do we place high value on the ACA qualification, but we also insist all of our fee-earning team pass the qualifications provided by the ICAEW's Corporate Finance Faculty to ensure they have the rigorous technical skills we rely upon at Catalyst".

As a result of this visit, Catalyst have been asked to contribute to one of the ICAEW's next regional events, which will see Simon Peacock speak on M&A within the food & drink industry at events in London and Birmingham in May.
