New Horizons (Childcare)
Deal Summary
Catalyst advised on the buy-in, management buy-out (BIMBO) of New Horizons Childcare supported by Dunedin Capital Partners.
Established in 1996, New Horizons provides residential childcare services for young persons between 7 and 18 years who are emotionally and behaviourally disturbed and currently operates from 10 homes in Shropshire.
The business has developed a therapeutic care model that aims to allow young people to be placed back in some form of independent living, either with foster families or back with parents.
What difference did we make?
We had previously worked with leading industry figure Thelma Turner on the sale of her eponymous care business to Milbury plc.
Following this sale, we worked with Thelma for targets she could acquire, and top of the final shortlist was New Horizons.
The business had recently been through a sales process but an exit for the founding shareholders had not been achieved. Working with the incumbent Managing Director at New Horizons, Thelma developed a strategy for the business and, in conjunction with her chosen equity provider completed a deal in four months.
Catalyst therefore helped unlock the deal through the introduction of Thelma Turner from our network.
