Catalyst advised the shareholders of Just Trays on the sale to a management buy-out funded by Gresham Private Equity.

Based in Leeds, Just Trays is the UK’s leading manufacturer of shower trays, holding an estimated 20% share of the UK shower tray market. With a strong brand and reputation within the installer base of plumbers and builders, its main routes to market are through major merchant chains and independent plumbing and heating outlets.

What difference did we make?

Having been introduced to the shareholders, Catalyst used its strong building products knowledge to review the market and assess all viable exit options.

Catalyst then managed a sale process that involved both trade players and financial buyers. Subject to obtaining the right price for the business, the shareholders were also keen to reward the incumbent management team. For this reason, the process focused on financial buyers and ultimately concluded with a sale to a management buy-out.

Catalyst presented the business in a fair and open way which ensured that there were no surprises through the due diligence process and the deal agreed at indicative offer stage was the deal delivered at completion.
