Deal Summary

Catalyst advised the board of Keller plc, an international ground engineering specialist quoted on the London Stock Exchange, on a strategic review of their concrete repair and building refurbishment division, Makers. This subsequently led to the sale of that division in three separate transactions.

With sales £1 billion, Keller plc has 6,300 staff worldwide with offices in 30 countries on five continents. Its Makers Division, operating through three companies has revenue of £70 million and employs 550 people in the UK.

What difference did we make?

The Makers Division had significantly underperformed and Keller's board were faced with a decision to either sell it or close it down entirely.

As a result of a detailed strategic options review undertaken by Catalyst a plan was implemented that resulted in a partial sale to a trade buyer and closure of one part of the business, with another part of the division then being sold to a management buy-out.

In total Keller realised significantly more for the assets then they had expected.
