Support for Olympic hopefuls

Catalyst is supporting potential Olympic Athletes by becoming the first organisation to sign up to a new fund raising scheme launched by Birmingham based Birchfield Harriers.

Birchfield, one of the country's oldest and most prestigious athletics clubs, is raising funds to assist high potential young athletes with their medical and training costs. Athletes identified by the club are from a wide range of disciplines including pole vault, long jump and 400 metres.

Catalyst Managing Partner Andy Currie comments, "We are delighted to become the first member of the 100 for 2012 group and I hope many more businesses and individuals will follow our lead. As a business we take an active part in the communities where we have offices and this is one of the projects that we are currently supporting in the West Midlands".

Andy Paul, Chairman of Birchfield Harriers added, "We are very grateful for the support of Catalyst Corporate Finance. Without financial contributions from such organisations our athletes would find the task of achieving their goals even harder as they struggle to finance their training and medical costs through part time work. As a club we have always been represented at the Olympics by highly talented athletes including, gold medallist Denise Lewis and we hope the funds raised from our 100 for 2012 project will help one of our athletes emulate her achievements".
