Catalyst shortlisted for European award

Catalyst has been short listed for the 2005 Real Deals/European Venture Capital Association (EVCA) Boutique of the Year award.

The award, which is judged by an independent panel representing some of the major organisations in the private equity arena across Europe, is based on deals completed in the year June 2004 to May 2005.

Included in the Catalyst nomination were the £120m secondary management buy out of Hillarys Blinds, the £20m MBO of Stone Computers and the merger of Synetrix and the Apax backed ECS Group.

Andy Currie, Managing Partner of Catalyst, commented, “We are delighted to be included on the short list for this prestigious award which reflects the quality of deals we have advised on during this period. We are continuing to build upon our success and following the cut off date for the award we have been involved in a number of high profile deals, including the £230m IBO of Britax Childcare and the MBOs of Woodward Foodservice and Integrity Software. Our commitment to deal origination is clearly demonstrated by the number of deals that we originated which are included in the nomination.”
