Andy Currie - "delighted for the great quality management team at VSG"

Catalyst has continued its recent string of major mid-market deals by acting as lead adviser on the £64 million sale of Vision Security Group (VSG) to FTSE 100 listed Compass Group plc.

Based in Northampton, VSG offers complete security solutions that encompass manned guarding, electronic security systems, remote monitoring, training, background screening and a range of other support services. In the last three years the Business has been highly successful in the security sector with a growth in turnover of over 50% to £140 million. This is also reflected in the number of people employed in the business which has increased from 4,000 to 6,000 in the same period.

Managing Partner at Catalyst, Andy Currie, who led the deal along with Director Justin Crowther said, "VSG is a supreme example of how great quality management can fashion and drive a business to market leadership in a relatively short period of time. Bill Muskin, Keith Francis and the team, working alongside non executive Mark Aldridge and more latterly LDC as funders, have a lot to be credited with. We are delighted that they chose Catalyst to help them achieve the next step in their journey which resulted in the sale to Compass."

"Following our deals this year with the likes of Synseal, Minivator and AIM Aviation, this is yet another example of how we use our experience and skill at Catalyst to help a market leader achieve its aims."
