Catalyst partner firm completes major consultancy practice sale

Giant international firm Accenture has completed the acquisition of privately held risk consulting firm RiskControl in a deal managed by Catalyst's partner firm in Latin America & the Caribbean, Broadspan.

The deal, which will complement and expand Accenture's risk service offerings in the rapidly growing Brazilian market includes RiskControl’s staff and service offerings as well as its end-to-end software tool, RiskControl, a software platform that helps companies manage, monitor and evaluate risks throughout their business.

The software is used primarily in financial services institutions to help manage balance-sheet exposure to market risk factors such as fluctuations in interest rates, foreign exchange rates, stock prices, indexes or commodities prices.

Deals involving consultancy and human capital firms are a increasingly large part of the work of Mergers Alliance firms, with other deal completions such as Foster + Partners, Celerant Consulting and the sale of Amec's Spie Division in recent years, as the partnership develops and deploys its skills valuing and transacting with human capital rich businesses.
